What File Format does my song need to be when I submit to you?
Single track, stereo .WAV file. If you’re submitting individual tracks for STEM Mastering, just send us a .WAV or .AIFF for each track.
In the order form we keep it easy and not get into that stuff. But if you want to know more:
We will match the bit rate/depth that you provide to us when we deliver your mastered song back to you. For iTunes we recommend you record at 24bit/96khz and we do optimize for this. If you submit at a lower bit rate / depth – such as 16bit/44.1k or 24bit/48k we will replicate that bit & depth that you send to us.
We will also provide you with an MP3 (typically at 320kpbs) since many Artists like to immediately share their music through their own websites or soundcloud as well as a .WAV dithered at 16bit for CD.
I don’t understand what Bit Rate/Depth is all about?
Not a problem. We’ll handle all the details. But it’s good info you should know. Here’s a helpful article from our friends over at musicproductionhq that explains Bit Rate & Depth in a bit more detail.
What will I get back from you?
Your song as a Mastered .WAV file ready for digital release!

For STEMs we’ll send back your Tracks in the same format received.
How long does it take?
We strive to get your music back to you within 3 business days – often sooner! Providing the best online mastering service does take a few days work. We listen to before and after versions of your song on many different systems before it’s ready for you. But we are perfectionists here, if it takes a little longer we’ll let you know where we’re at every step of the process.
I think my Mix is perfect – anything I should know?
Allow us at least 6db of headroom, and don’t let it peak far above -6db or it’ll limit what we can do for your song.
The higher bitrate/depth you record, the better the overall quality of your final product. Our Mastered .WAV back to you will match the bitrate/depth. We recommend 24bit/96khz for iTunes.
What if I’m not happy?
You get one free revision! Many Artists don’t need this, but we want you to be happy. Just tell us what you’re hearing and what you’d like us to change. Keep in mind, if it’s in the mix itself we’ll ask you to apply the changes on your end and resubmit to us for the revision.
